California was fighting a lawsuit from twenty-five local governments looking to stop cannabis deliveries in their jurisdictions. To our surprise, the court agreed to ban deliveries to those cities but allowed drivers to pass through on their way to other stops. That’s like the city council of Oakland, stopping me from ordering pizza from San Francisco, even if my doctor says pizza is needed for my medical condition. Get your hands off of my pizza!...and my cannabis. There is good news for cannabis banking as anti-cannabis Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will be leaving his position as the chair of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee and the seemingly more open-minded Pennsylvania Republican Pat Toomey will be taking his place. It probably helps that Pennsylvania has medical cannabis and isn't far from adult-use. Then we need him to convince Mitch “Don't call me Turtle” McConnell to allow the bill to reach the floor to be voted on. An estimated 26,000 jobs will be made by this election's new cannabis states. The mayor of Chicago said she was going to lay off 350 staff but cannabis taxes exceeded projections and they can all keep their job. Talk about a Thanksgiving miracle.☺
