The DEA has agreed to accept applications for cannabis research since during the Obama administration but hasn't granted any. That is until this week when they finally approved applications for a handful of companies! I assume the new administration is convincing the DEA to step out of the way of science. California cities need to turn provisional licenses into full-fledged annual licenses and don't have the resources. So Governor Gavin Newsome is proposing $100M in grants and an extension to help. Denver, which hasn't allowed cultivation licenses in 5 years, is accepting but from areas benefiting equity applicants.
