Currently, due to policies related to its federally illegal status, credit card purchases for cannabis are impossible. Last July, the Federal Government charged Ruben Weigand and Hamid "Ray" Akhavan with conspiracy to create bank fraud. Allegedly, they created fake companies to trick processors to accept customers' payments on behalf of licensed cannabis partners. Though Eaze has not been charged yet, Law 360 says that a recent docket filing indicates the former CEO of Eaze, Jim Patterson, will be charged this Friday and that the trial is expected to start March 1st. That's so much drama just to take credit card payments! :)
